Town of Wright/Schoharie Valley Lions: The Lions Club provides the Town of Wright and surrounding areas with humanitarian and community support.  With a focus on sight and hearing conservation, the Lions provide glasses, exams, hearing aids and hospital equipment to those who could not afford it.  They also built and maintain the Town Park and provide a wealth of community services.  For more information, just click on Wright Lions

The Wright Friendly Seniors meet at noon on the second Thursday of each month in the Municipal Building on School Street in Gallupville, New York.

The club is open to residents of the Town of Wright, 50 years or older, who enjoy good food and the fellowship of other seniors.  Each month, if we don’t go out to eat, we all bring a dish to share and our own table setting.  Coffee is available and our meeting is held after dinner.

On special occasions, e.g., holidays like Thanksgiving, we enjoy going out to eat at various places for a change.  During the winter months some of us like to go to the Summit Conservation Club on a Saturday afternoon for their special “Stuffed Pizza” which we eat sitting by the open fire in the fireplace.

Those of us who like to travel sometimes join the Hilltowns Seniors on the trips planned by them.  This past summer we traveled on our own to Oneonta where we lunched at Brooks BBQ and then visited the Joseph L. Popp Jr. Butterfly Conservatory.

This year we have had five new members join our club and we are looking forward to welcoming more – everyone is welcome.
